The Engagement

It was 5:00 o`clock and the sun was setting.  I was on my way to Vancouver International Airport because my best friend, Jack was going to get engaged today and it was not any ordinary engagement.  It was an in mid-air engagement, meaning you get on an airplane and when you are in mid-air you get engaged, I was really excited.

I met my friend Jack as we boarded into the plane.  Everything was going well and the engagement was just going to start, suddenly all the lights went out.  Everyone was in distress.  This was not suppose to happen. Then, the lights turned back on and the pilot announced,

“Hello and sorry for the lights.  The planes lighting switch was accidently pressed causing the lights to turn off but now everything should be fine, thank you.”

I wiped my forehead in relieve and we all got back in celebrating Jack’s engagement.

  1. I think there should be a comma after Jack in your second sentence.
Your second paragraph should look like this, 'I met my friend Jack as we boarded into the plane. Everything was going well and the engagement was about to happen, suddenly all the lights went out. Everyone was in distress. This was not suppose to happen. Then, the lights turned back on.'

  2. the last sentence in the first paragraph needs more detail. Also the second sentence in the second paragraph you should say ENGAGEMENT PART and not just engagement.
